タイはチェンマイを拠点に活動中のインディーポップ / シューゲイズ / ドリームポップ・バンド、srwks. = ソローウィークスの初来日公演が開催決定！
srwks.と書いてソローウィークスと読むこのバンドは、ビーチ沿いを散歩したくなるような陽気なインディーポップからSlowdiveを彷彿させるようなシューゲイズまで、変幻自在にインディーサウンドを鳴らす6人組。
昨年リリースされたデビューアルバム『Pizza Party, Tequila And Xanax』はカリフォルニアの天気のように陽気で程よいミドルテンポが絶妙に心地良い「Dancing Shrimp」や壮大でどこまでも届いていきそうなシューゲイズ「Limbo」といった楽曲から、眠りに落ち深い夢の中で出会った死神について書いたフィクション物語である「Shinigami（死神）」、「Hydrangea」というタイトルの通り紫陽花の咲く梅雨の時期にピッタリな淡いドリームポップまでを収録したバラエティーの溢れた作品になっている。
彼らは自分たちのことを「srwks. are combination of Shoegaze, Dream Pop, Indie Rock, Brit Rock, Alternative Rock genre of music, in each song has unique ways to approach by combining many genres」と紹介しているが、これほど幅広いサウンドを一つの作品としてまとめ上げるバンドはいないでしょう。

srwks. = Sorrow Weeks
They’re six pieces indie band from Chiang Mai, Thailand. They describe themselves as “srwks. are combination of Shoegaze, Dream Pop, Indie Rock, Brit Rock, Alternative Rock genre of music, in each song has unique ways to approach by combining many genres” and this description is the definitive explanation of srwks. They released their debut album, “Pizza Party, Tequila And Xanax” and it includes the breezy, mid-tempo cheer of "Dancing Shrimp" which reminiscent of California sunshine, emotional shoegaze of "Limbo", and "Hydrangea" an ethereal dream pop track that perfectly captures it atmosphere of the rainy hydrangea season. So they were successful brough many indie genre music into one album.
After supporting Hitsujibungaku in Bangkok and building a strong reputation in Chiang Mai, the rising band srwks. is finally coming to Japan. Be sure to witness their first Japan live shows!
