Masumi Yamamoto

■Masumi Yamamoto is a Jazz pianist, composer and leader of her acclaimed Jazz group “TLQ plus”. 

 Masumi Yamamoto with TLQ plus has just completed a sold out highly successful and highly rated four show tour in Tokyo, Yokohama and Nagaoka, Japan. She returned to Japan due to the spread of the COVID.  

 Since she has begun activities in Japan all of her live shows have been sold out! Her musical activities have been featured and talked about in a two part TV Documentary and in magazines and various print media. 

Masumi is very passionate about working with Japanese youth, and enjoys sharing her experiences from traveling, living and learning about other cultures and about Music. She presents a program “Jazz is fun” and her inspiring “BelieveYourself” initiative at middle schools in her hometown. These programs have been thoroughly embraced by Students, Parents and Teachers and has become an inspiration and influence for her fast growing following and her many fans.  

Masumi started her classical piano training at the age of four, and composed her first original piece at the age of six. She won numerous piano competitions. 

After graduating from Kanagawa University, she moved to Los Angeles and signed a recording agreement with Fortress USA Records. 

Her first single as a singer-songwriter peaked at #4 on the Billboard Magazine's Hip-Hop, R&B chart in the United States. 

As a composer and arranger, she has worked on music for popular TV shows such as NBC's America's Got Talent. 

She has performed in groups led by many Jazz legends.
